We place emphasis on the importance of helping parents of children with “Intellectual challenges.” Our programs provide ways to help parents develop different strategies that are responsive to their children’s needs.
Learning Boost
Program utilizes the K5 learning program, K5 Readers, Unique Learning and other tools, to teach the kids fundamental reading, writing and math.
Learning Boost is about learning through direct, hands-on experiences, events, ideas, and objects in our learners’ surroundings.
We use rhyming worksheets with matching pictures along with early writing materials where they are tracing, writing, and unscrambling simple sentences.
Speech Boost
Program aids children with speech needs to better learn on how to express themselves: Auditory, sequencing, and following directions.
Our program for foundational literacy has a variety of activities for teaching basic grammar skills, functional communication for expressive and receptive language games with symbols, including sentence strips to build sentences that allow these individuals to develop good listening, auditory, memory and comprehension skills with step-by-step activities.
Physix Boost
Program teaches and trains the kids on appropriate and physically fit movements to develop self confidence and engagement with others.
We promote this skill through physical activities such as bouncing on the ball, kicking and throwing the ball, and jumping jacks. We use full physical prompts with these individuals to help them learn these skills. These exercises help make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve.
Styling Boost
Program trains the children in self care such as dressing skills, home care skills, and other daily routine tasks.
We provide visual cues with step-by-step instructions to teach these individuals the following skills: brushing their teeth, taking a shower, dressing up, making a bed, setting table, folding their clothes, and washing their hands.
